Hawaii's largest marine zoo is located on the east side of Oahu just 24 km from downtown Honolulu. Sea Life Park Hawaii will appeal to all lovers of marine mammals, birds and fish, and offers swimming with dolphins and other opportunities.

Highlights of this park include:

  • Hawaiian Reef Aquarium - A large 1,100m3 aquarium that is home to 2,000 different animals that inhabit Hawaii's reefs, including sharks, turtles and colorful fish
  • Dolphine Cove - a tank with dolphins that perform a variety of choreographed routines at the direction of their keepers
  • Penguin Habitat - a home for penguins
  • Hawaiian Monk Seal Habitat - a section where sea lions and seals live with many different shows
  • Bird Sanctuary - a bird park, where mainly injured and sick birds captured on Oahu recover, some of which are returned to the wild when their condition allows

In addition, you can take advantage of some of the many different interactive offerings such as turtle feeding, swimming or dolphin exercise, and more.

Entrance fees and opening hours

The park is open daily from 10am to 4pm in high season, and closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays in low season. Please visit the park's website for current opening hours.

How to get there

By car from Honolulu, it takes about 30-40 minutes to get to Sea Life Park via Highway 72. Please note, there is a parking fee of 10 usd.

It is much more convenient to take the bus, which costs a ticket 3 usd with a daily maximum 7,50 usd (more in the Transportation chapter).
