Nuuanu Pali is one of the most accessible viewpoints outside of Honolulu, offering breathtaking views of a landscape of green mountains, wide valleys, the ocean in the background, and the monumental highway structure that cuts its way through the mountains via a pair of tunnels.

From the official lookout with parking and guardrails, you can head in either direction along beaten paths less than a mile further along the crest of the hills, where you can enjoy more breathtaking views with a greater touch of privacy and surrounded by nature.

How to get there

The Nu'uanu Pali viewpoint is reached by a tarmac road from Highway 61, with access to the viewpoint from both directions of the highway. You can park in the free parking lot at the top.
