The Selfridges building, one of the chain's 4 UK branches, has been one of Birmingham's main landmarks since its opening in 2003.
Selfridges is part of the Bullring business district, but is the only building that stands out from the rest.
A unique example of blob architecture
Selfridges in Birmingham is one of the best examples of what is known as Blob Architekture, short for blobitecture.
Buildings constructed in this style have an organic amoeba shape with no angular lines.
The curved facade of Selfridges consists of 15,000 anodised discs on a blue background that glows in the dark.
Selfridges was designed by Czech architect Jan Kaplický.
