Gothenburg is a peaceful Nordic city on the southwest coast of Sweden and is its second largest city after Stockholm with almost 600,000 inhabitants.

In the past, Gothenburg has provided the backdrop for the creation of major companies such as Volvo, Ericsson and AstraZeneca.

Today it is more of a student city with two major universities and a major port and commercial hub.

It offers travellers picturesque Scandinavian-style streets with a unique charisma, as most of the buildings have retained their original form. The harbour atmosphere can be felt around every corner and the city is best viewed from a boat, whether sailing from one side of the Göta älv River to the other or on a journey to the surrounding islands.
