In the Tramuntana Mountains, which stretch across the north-western part of Mallorca, visit the picturesque valley dominated by the Cúber Dam, which makes for spectacular views and also creates picnic spots and stops during roadtrips around the island. The dam was built in 1978, 7 years after the construction of another dam, Gorg Blau, which is a few kilometres higher up and is also a popular stopping point.
Both dams serve as reservoirs for drinking water, so unfortunately you are not allowed to swim here.

The dams can only be reached by car, as the road connecting Sóller and Pollenca passes by them.
