Es Trenc beach

Es Trenc beach

Es Trenc is Mallorca's most famous beach, located in the south of the island. Its clear turquoise waters, which are more typical of the Caribbean, and its almost 3 kilometres of fine white sand have rightly earned it the nickname "paradise on earth". As it is a nature reserve, home to several species of endangered animals and plants, you won't find sunbeds or umbrellas here, or showers, or refreshments and restaurants.

Book your Mallorca hotel in advance

Make sure you bring plenty of water and some snacks, although locals sometimes come to the beach and offer cold drinks, but you can't rely on that. This is one of the reasons why this beach is so popular with the locals, it is an escape from the busier parts of the island.

Accommodation and resorts

The nearest major resort where you can stay is Colonia de Sant Jordi, about 2km away. Here you'll find mainly apartments and smaller hotel resorts with prices from 73 eur per night for two people. Regular hotels in summer have prices from 121 eur.

The cheapest hotels include Hostal Ca'n Pep in the resort of Sa Rápita. If you are looking for the best value for money hotel, we would recommend Universal Hotel Marqués **** in Colonia de Sant Jordi right by the sea.

How to get there

By car

You'll find the official car park about halfway along the beach, about 150 metres from the sea (at this exact spot). The fee for all day parking is 7 eur.

Alternatively, you can park in the town of Colonia de Sant Jordi, from where the beach is about 1.5 kilometres along the path along the sea. However, it can be very difficult to find a parking space here. There is no legal parking in the village of Ses Covetes (sa Rápita) at the other, northern, end of the beach.

By bus

The closer village of Ses Covetes (aka sa Rápita) can be reached directly from Palma by bus number 515. The ticket costs 6,50 eur one way.

At the other end of the beach, the 502 bus from Palma to Colonia de Sant Jordi costs 6,65 eur. You can also take the 495 bus from Mancor to Colonia, where you can change to other buses along Mallorca's west coast.
