This is a true unadulterated beach holiday factory. Over 3km of wide sandy beach stretches from Can Pastilla to El Arenal and is lined with bars, restaurants, sunbed and umbrella hire, every conceivable water activity and sport on offer and, of course, many hotels.

El Arenal beach is one of the busiest on the island and is popular with those who love long, flat beaches, very shallow waters and typical beach activities. Entrance to the entire length of the beach is free, but for two sunbeds and an umbrella you can pay between 13 and 17 eur per day.

Palma Aquarium

On the northern part of the beach on the edge of Can Pastilla is one of Europe's largest aquariums, the Palma Aquarium. Here you'll find 55 tanks with more than 700 species and 8,000 different animals. It boasts the largest shark tank in Europe and also Europe's largest coral tank.

Aqualand

In El Arenal, water fun lovers will also enjoy the water park. On the southern outskirts of El Arenal is the largest waterpark in Mallorca, Aqualand, which offers dozens of attractions to entertain adults, youngsters and the youngest children.

El Arenal has probably the largest concentration of hotels in Mallorca. There are large beach resorts with all-inclusive offers as well as smaller cheaper hotels. All accommodation is within 500 metres of the beach.

El Arenal is one of the cheapest resorts in Mallorca. In high season you can get accommodation from 73 eur per night in a double room, and in June and September from 62 eur. Slightly cheaper accommodation is available directly in El Arenal. The more northerly Can Pastila, which is closer to Palma and the airport, has a price roughly 10-15% higher.

How to get there?

El Arenal has excellent connections to the whole island. In addition to the car, you can take advantage of the many bus routes both intercity buses of TIB and public transport in Palma EMTPalma. The services are frequent and, for example, go to Palma every few minutes.

There are also direct buses from here to the airport and the south-east of the island. Check out the TIB and EMTPalma websites.

From Palma de Mallorca you can use buses 23 and 25 of the transport company EMTPalma. TIB buses go to the interior of the islands - line 503 to Campos, where you can change to other services to the east of the island, and line 504 to the small resort of Tolleric.

Bus line A2 runs directly to the airport from El Arenal.
