Kasuga Shinto Shrine is located in Nara Park and is the most important in the city.
Kasuga-Taisha was founded in 768 when Nara was still the capital of Japan. It is dedicated to the deities responsible for protecting the city of Nara and is therefore one of the most celebrated shrines.
