Kyoto Tower is one of the few modern architectural attractions in an otherwise historic city.

The observation platform is located at a height of 100 metres and offers panoramic 360° views of the whole of Kyoto. On clear days, even Osaka can be seen, especially at night.

The panorama of Kyoto is not as spectacular as, for example, the view from Osaka's Harukas 300 tower, because Kyoto has no other high-rise buildings. However, you can see the ring of densely forested hills around the city beautifully.

Admission and opening hours

The viewpoint is open from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm. Last entry is possible at 20:30.

The ticket price is 900 jpy.

Supermarket and hotel

Kyoto Tower is part of a huge complex of department stores with goods of all kinds. The supermarkets always include food courts where you can eat well and cheaply.

Right in the tower building, you can stay at the Kyoto Tower Hotel ****, which is ideal for getting around the city and for trips outside. Bus, train and subway stops are within a 2-minute walk.
