Pefkochori is the largest and, according to many, the most beautiful resort on the promontory of Kassandra, the westernmost of the three peninsulas of the "Poseidon Trident". The town is the most lively of all the resorts in the area and probably has the cleanest beaches and sea.

The resort lies at the southern tip of the Kassandra peninsula and also offers opportunities for trips to beaches completely outside the town to the south.
Beaches and swimming
The local town beach, which stretches for 2.5km along the entire coastline, is covered in fine white sand mixed with pebbles. The entrance to the sea is very gradual and the water is always calm. The water off the shores of Pefkochori is crystal clear and the swimming here is among the best in the whole of the Kassandra promontory.
The beach in the central part of the town is very busy and in high season fully occupied from about 9:00 am. Sunbeds and umbrellas can be rented here in many places at prices around 12 eur per day, and there are also various water sports and activities on offer at every corner.
A pedestrian promenade with dozens of restaurants, taverns and shops selling souvenirs and beach equipment winds along the entire beach, while in the centre, about 150 metres from the beach, you can shop in the usual supermarkets.
The promenade comes alive especially in the evening and is alive until late. Even so, you don't have to worry about raucous parties and drinking until the early hours, Pefkochori is still one of the quieter places ideal for families with children.
About 2km east of the centre you'll come across the popular pebble beach of Glarokavos, which is bisected by a large lagoon. The environment here is more natural, and you can also visit a small water park on the sea.
Even further away from the centre of Pefkochori you will find one of the most beautiful beaches in Halkidiki - Paliouri Beach.

If you're heading to the resort as an individual traveller, be prepared for high season hotel or studio prices between 92 eur and 147 eur per night in a 2-bed room, while the better resorts have prices between 110 eur and 293 eur.
Pefkochori is one of the more expensive resorts in Halkidiki.
Cheap and well rated apartments with prices even below 73 eur are for example Orange Tree Garden in a quiet area on the outskirts of town.
Among the classic hotels, price and rating wins Hotel Akritas Pefkochori *** located in the centre of the town about 200 metres from the beach or the small modern hotel Art Boutique **** right by the central part of the beach.
How to get to Pefkochori?
The resort lies on the eastern coast of the westernmost tip of Kassandra. If you travel with a tour operator, transport will most often be arranged from Thessaloniki airport, from which you will drive about one hour and three quarters.
