The town of Neos Marmaras is the most like a real town of all the places in Halkidiki, not just a resort full of apartments and hotels. The urban development is densest around the harbour, where you can enjoy complete facilities. Beaches and swimming
While there are nicer beaches in Halkidiki, south of the town centre you can enjoy summertime relaxation on the sandy Neos Marmaras beach, with its gentle entrance to the sea and ample facilities in the form of sunbed hire and beach bars.
Due to the proximity of the larger town, you should also expect larger crowds. However, for short evening visits after a day exploring Sithonia, the beach is absolutely ideal.
However, don't hesitate to head ideally by rental car to the smaller resorts in the south of Sithonia, where you will discover beautiful natural beaches in small coves.
