A popular destination for locals strolling along the main waterfront promenade is the majestic Brunei River Road Bridge with its beautiful golden dome on its single support.

The bridge has a very long official name "Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha" after Queen Saleha.

Locals therefore shorten it to the more commonly used "Sungai Kebun", which loosely translates to "Bridge over the Garden River".

The bridge was built in 2017 to better serve the land portion of Kampong Ayer village.

As it mainly serves local traffic, it has truly impressive dimensions: it measures 622 metres in length and the single bridge pier is 157 metres high.

At night, the bridge is beautifully illuminated.
