Bandar Seri Begawan is the only major city in Brunei and all international traffic heads here.

International air, bus and boat services are therefore described in detail in our guide to Brunei.

In this chapter we will therefore focus mainly on domestic transport from Bandar Seri Begawan to other parts of Brunei.

Buses from BSB to other cities in Brunei

There are no trains or subways in Brunei, so buses are the only form of public transport.

All city and intercity bus routes have a main bus station in the city centre at a single stop (see map).

In fact, there is only one domestic line running on the Bandar Seri Begawan - Tutong - Seria route.

Buses on this line run about once an hour and the ticket price is 2 bnd.

Taxi DART

All other Brunei cities are ideally reached by taxi via the DART mobile app, which operates throughout the country.

However, if you're travelling from smaller towns, you may have to wait over an hour for a free car.

Prices outside of Bandar Seri Begawan are quite high, however, and for example, you'll pay around 90 bnd for a ride to the town of Seria .

We describe in detail how to use the DART app in the Transport chapter.
