Royal Regalia Museum

The Royal Regalia Museum is one of Brunei's major cultural institutions and is the most visited museum in the country.

The museum displays objects related to the family of Sultan Hassan Bolkiah, who opened the museum in 1992.

There is a special focus on the silver and golden jubilee of the Sultan's reign with many photos, videos or even the cars the Sultan used to drive.

The museum building itself is also interesting with a large dome decorated with gold mosaics.

Entrance fees and opening hours

The museum is open at the following times:

  • Monday to Thursday and Saturday - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Friday - closed

Last admission is always 30 minutes before closing time.

Admission is free for local residents. International visitors pay 5 bnd.

The Royal Regalia Museum can be found about a 7 minute walk north of the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque.
