Prokletije has several parts, the most famous of which is the Thethi National Park or the picturesque Valbonë Valley.

The Albanian Alps have a surprisingly good network of marked hiking trails just around the villages of Theth and Valbonë, and you can go on shorter day trips and longer hikes.

How to get there

The Albanian Alps have two access roads.

  • One road leads to the village of Theth from the west from the town of Koplik on Lake Skadar, a good quality tarmac road has been built right up to the village of Theth and is easily passable by all types of car.
  • The other road leads to the Valbonë valley from the east from Bajram Curri. This road is also a good quality asphalt road passable by all kinds of cars.

Both places are also accessed by vans, local minibuses:

  • Skadar - Theth for 700 all
  • Valbonë - Bajram Curri for 500 all
