Passport or ID card?

It is possible to travel to Albania with a traditional passport, but also with a regular ID card issued in any European Union country.

Although Albania is not yet a member of the EU, it allows entry without a passport for EU member states. Thus, a citizen's identification card to Albania will easily suffice.

Validity of travel documents

Although Albania is an EU candidate country where you can usually get a valid document for the duration of your stay, it has not yet introduced this exception and your document, whether it is a passport or an ID card, must still be valid for at least 90 days after you leave Albania.

Compulsory vaccinations

You do not need any vaccinations to stay in Albania, proof of vaccination is only required if you are coming from a country where yellow fever is present.

Customs regulations

It is possible to import 200 cigarettes or 250 grams of tobacco, 1 litre of spirits with 22% alcohol or more and 2 litres of wine or spirits with up to 22% alcohol, 50 grams of perfume or 0.25 litres of toilet water and a maximum of 1 million ALL, i.e. about 7.150 eur, into Albania duty free.
