The largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife, has two airports. The smaller Tenerife-Norte is located near the capital Santa Cruz, while the larger Tenerife-Sur is in the southern part of the island near the town of Las Galletas. The distance to Santa Cruz is 62 km.
The airport is also known as Reina Sofía.
The airport mainly serves international flights to Europe, with Ryanair, easyJet, Condor and other low-cost airlines having the main share of flights.
Of the network airlines, the most frequent flights to Tenerife Sur are Iberia to Madrid and Vueling to Barcelona, Paris and London, from where they offer connecting flights all over the world.
