A very small regional airport, LHD is located just 1 km from the centre of Lahad Datu in the south-eastern part of the Malaysian state of Sabah.
The airport can serve as a good starting point for trips to the Tabin Nature Reserve or the Danum Valley.
However, Lahad Datu is one of the smallest airports in Sabah, with scheduled services only to Kota Kinabalu (several times a day with a possible connection to Kuala Lumpur) and once a day to nearby Sandakan. Only Malaysia Airlines operates services to Lahad Datu.
The terminal is very small and contains only basic services such as check-in counters or toilets. Orientation is very easy: the whole terminal contains one small hall, which you can walk through in a minute.
