There is no public transport in Lahad Datu, but taxis are available outside the terminal and you can also use the Grab mobile app.
Taxi / Grab
There are always plenty of official taxis waiting outside the terminal on every scheduled arrival. At the kiosk in the arrivals hall, pay a voucher to go to the taxi driver.
In the area around Lahad Datu town, the Grab mobile app also works very well to present an option, which is usually cheaper than regular taxis.

On foot
If you arrive in the morning or in the dark when the temperatures outside are not so high, you can easily walk to the centre 1km away.
However, this method is only suitable for backpackers as the sidewalks are quite broken or missing altogether in some places.
