Norway's small international airport is located on the island of Vigra, about 17 km from the centre of Ålesund, which is connected by a system of bridges and underwater tunnels.
The airport is located in the picturesque Møre og Romsdal region with dozens of islands and fjords and is a popular starting point for road-trips around western Norway.
SAS and Norwegian airlines with connections to Oslo (up to 7 times daily) and Wideroe with services to Trondheim and Bergen provide the bulk of the traffic.
Direct international connections can be purchased from the following airlines:
- klm.com - Amsterdam and connecting flights further afield
- lufthansa.com (operated by Discover Airlines) - Frankfurt and connecting flights further afield
- Wizz Air - Gdansk
- Norwegian - Alicante
