Qantas is one of the carriers that allows free check-in at the airport.

Check-in at the airport

Check-in at the airport counter is free of charge for Qantas.

Counter opening and closing times are as follows:

• International flights - 4 hours to 60 minutes prior to departure (less than 4 hours for flights departing from airports outside India - approx. 3.5 hours)
• Domestic flights - 2 hours to 30 minutes before departure

At all Australian airports, you can check-in via a self-service kiosk, which allows you to avoid queues if you are travelling with hand luggage only.

Online check-in

You can check-in online in the comfort of your home 24 hours to 2 hours before your international departure via qantas.com/check-in.

For domestic flights, online check-in is available 24 hours to 30 minutes before departure.

Online check-in is also available via the Qantas mobile app (Google Play / App Store), where you enter your booking number and present a QR code on your mobile phone at the airport.

If you are travelling with hand luggage only, you do not need to visit the airport counter at all in this case. Proceed straight to security and passport control.

Selecting a seat (seating)

Do you want a window seat or, on a long flight, do you prefer an aisle seat so you can stretch out undisturbed at any time?

With Qantas, you can select a specific seat for free at any time during the purchase of your ticket and later in the "Manage Booking" section or during online check-in.
