Andalusia is known for its quaint villages with whitewashed houses, narrow streets and rich floral decorations. Although the western part of the Costa del Sol is now home mainly to large resorts with hotel complexes, even very close to their centres you can visit typical Andalusian villages. One of the best accessible is the village of Rancho Domingo, between the resorts of Benalmádena and Fuengirola.
Rancho Domingo is the perfect place for a quick trip, you can walk around the town in an hour, but you can definitely stop at one of the local romantic restaurants.
Accommodation
If you don't want to stay in the busy resort centres, check out the small hotels in Rancho Domingo. The evenings are quiet here, yet you can get to the centre of Benalmádena in 10 minutes by bus.
For the cheapest accommodation with very good ratings, start from about 62 eur per night for 2, look for example at the Boutique Hotel Pueblo or Hotel Casa Rosa.
How to get there
Rancho Domingo is served by a large number of local bus routes, for which you can buy a ticket from the driver or on the mobile app. The most frequent connection is to Benalmádena (about once every 3-10 minutes), but you can also get to the mountain village of Mijas or the resorts of Torremolinos and Fuengirola (about once every 15 minutes).
Detailed information on routes and timetables can be found on the Avanza bus company website.
