Mijas is a mountain town towering above the resorts of Benalmádena and Fuengirola and a very popular place for excursions from the sea. Mijas is nestled into the slopes of the Sierra de Mijas and is one of the typical examples of Andalusian towns. Take a half-day trip here, let the narrow streets winding up and down and the typical white houses that are as much a part of Andalusia as the constant sunshine.
From many points in the town, you'll have spectacular views of much of the Costa del Sol, and on clear days you can even see the shores of the African continent from here.
Mijas is a town full of restaurants and shops, and the best time to visit is in the early evening when the streets are alive with nightlife.
Accommodation
The town is also one of the starting points for hiking trips into the Sierra Mijas, in which case it would be ideal to stay here for at least 1-2 nights. Prices here are friendlier than in seaside resorts and you can pay from 51 eur per night in a 2-bed room in high season.

Transportation
The town of Mijas is very accessible by bus. Tickets to nearby places can be bought from the driver, from kiosks or the mobile app and will set you back a maximum of 2 to 3 eur. From Mijas you can reach the following destinations:
