La Duquesa

Duquesa

A small, quiet resort in the western part of the Costa del Sol, where the strip of big resorts ends, this is the idyllic La Duquesa, which, in addition to its beautiful manicured beaches, boasts excellent golf courses.

Beaches and swimming

La Duquesa has a beautiful flat coastline with a photogenic backdrop of mountains. The local beaches are well maintained and measure over 12km in total, if you include the parts that overlap into the neighbouring smaller resorts. They are covered with fine, light sand and there is something for everyone. The beaches right in Duquesa are equipped with sunbed and umbrella hire, restaurants and great tapas bars. However, they are among the more expensive on the Costa del Sol.

The further you move away from La Duquesa (in both directions), the less crowded and more private the beaches will be. Empty natural beaches are quite rare on the Costa del Sol, so those who love peace and quiet will head to La Duquesa.

Accommodation

The town is relatively small and has the hallmark of a more upmarket resort, so accommodation options are limited and relatively expensive. The cheapest apartments can be found around 99 eur per night for 2 people, check out Casa Delfin or Duquesa Loft right on the dock in the centre of the action.

Transportation

The A7 main coastal motorway runs right through La Duquesa, and you can park in two free car parks right in the centre by the marina.

Avanza buses also stop here on the M240 line which runs between Estepona and La Línea de la Concepción, with stops all along this route.
