Marina di Grossetto is formally part of the town of Grossetto, but its historic centre is over 12 km inland.
This resort is one of the most popular in the whole of Tuscany, as it is situated in a nice setting away from the big cities and has a beautiful sandy beach lined with mature forests.
Swimming and beach facilities
The beach in Grosseto is covered with fine, light sand and the quiet surroundings make it ideal for families with children.
The central area is, as in all larger resorts in Italy, largely allocated to private operators who charge for access to their stretches of beach, with amounts ranging from 20 eur to 45 eur.
The price depends on the season and the location of the sunbed and umbrella rented.
Outside the centre to the north and south, however, the beach is already free for everyone. And you'll have plenty of space. The total length of the beach in Marina di Grossetto is over 4 km!
The edges of the beach are beautiful, with the trees from the adjacent forest reaching up above the sand and creating natural shade.
