If you search the internet for information and photos from Tuscany, the first places you'll find are winding roads through idyllic rolling countryside planted with cypress trees. The others and the opening photo of this guide show such scenery.
Cypress trees and cypress alleys are a typical picture of the whole of Tuscany and you will come across them really everywhere. But if you're really looking for that "only avenue of cypress trees" from the promotional photos, head about 31km southeast of Siena to the village of Asciano in the hills of Crete senesi.
The road to Agriturismo Baccoleno
The road shown in the photos is the private property of the Agriturismo Baccoleno and cannot be taken unless you are staying there, as it is gated.
However, this doesn't matter at all, because you can take great photos from the adjacent field, which can be easily reached on foot from the main road, or from the crossroads, where the only short-term parking is possible (there is space for about 3-4 cars).
See the exact location on the map from where you can take a photo of the world-famous cypress alley.
Accommodation in Agriturismo Baccoleno
The Agriturismo Baccoleno is one of the best rated hotels in the whole of Tuscany. Stay in stylish apartments with beamed ceilings in a setting of fields, vineyards and idyllic Tuscan countryside far from civilisation. You can make use of the hot tub and the large garden. The rooms are fully equipped and the hotel provides every comfort. The price around from 92 eur per night in a 2-bed room is a very good offer for such a beautiful setting.

How to get there
The best way is definitely by car, which can be rented at the nearest airports of Florence (112 km) or Pisa (152 km).
First, drive to Siena, which you will be directed to by signs already from Pisa or Florence. From there, take the SP-348 road to Asciano, where you turn onto the SP60 motorway in the direction of S. Giovanni d'Asso.
You will reach the turn-off for Agriturismo Baccoleno after about 6 km. Park just at the turn-off in front of the gate, you cannot park along the main road due to the lack of a shoulder.
There is no bus to get to the turn-off, or rather line number 109 passes by, but only once a day.
