The fourth largest city in Tuscany is located in the eastern part of the Italian province and is somewhat overshadowed by more famous tourist cities such as Florence or Siena.
However, we definitely recommend visiting Arezzo during your wanderings in Tuscany.
Highlights include the very steeply sloping main square , Piazza Grande, with its beautiful medieval houses decorated with family coats of arms.
Other highlights include the 13th-century Cathedral of Saints Peter and Donatus, as well as the Vasariano Aqueduct on the northern edge of the city.
Arezzo is easily reached by train within an hour from Florence.
