The beautiful church of Christ Pantokrator stands right in the centre of the main square of Nessebar.
The former Orthodox church, now an occasional art gallery, is known for its lavishly decorated exterior, which is in keeping with traditional Byzantine architecture.
The history of the church dates back to the reign of Tsar Ivan Alexander of Bulgaria, in the mid-14th century.
Although the church is relatively small in size (only 16x7 metres), it is the second largest historic church in Nessebar.
