One of the two beaches on the island is located in Well's Bay, and it is more suitable for a one-time visit than a day of swimming and sunbathing.
As well as soaking in the sea, Well's Bay is also a beautiful place with dramatic cliffs and several walking trails.

Large rocks and black volcanic sand cover the beach, creating a comfortable walking strip. The entrance to the water is rocky and the first 5 meters or so are relatively gradual so that swimming is safe.
However, if the waves are so large that they overwhelm the entire beach, we do not recommend that less fit swimmers enter the water, as it may then be difficult to climb out of the sea and back onto land.
How to get to the beach?
Although Well's Bay is on the orphaned west coast of Saba, a concrete road passable for all types of cars leads directly to the sea from the town of The Bottom.
From the northern outskirts of The Bottom, you can also choose the beautiful "Middle Island Trail", a hiking trail that leads through comfortable terrain through the forest. The length of the trail is approximately 1 km one way.
