Saba is one of the smallest inhabited islands in the Caribbean, and its accessibility also corresponds to this.

Regular air and boat services run only to the nearest neighbouring islands, and air and boat ticket prices are relatively high due to low competition.

Find flights to Saba

The most common way to get to Saba is via St Martin's Island. Detailed information on how to get there can be found in a separate guide to the island.

By air

Many aviation enthusiasts head to Saba already because of the local airport, which has one of the shortest runways in the world. For detailed information on transport or terminal services, see our article on Saba SAB Airport.

The only scheduled service to Saba is operated by Winair, which flies its 19-seat Twin Otter aircraft from the large SXM International Airport on St. Martin.

Although the flight from St. Martin to Saba takes only 15 minutes on average, the price of a return ticket is around 200 usd.

The Saba - Saint Martin route flies 2-3 times a day.

However, Winair works with the major airlines flying to SXM (notably Air France, KLM, Delta and United) and you can therefore buy a ticket to Saba from Europe or the USA with a guaranteed connection in St Martin in one booking.

Ferry

A boat takes you from Saba regularly to three different islands.

Transportation is provided by Makana Ferry. For timetables and ticket bookings, visit makanaferryservice.com.

The dock is located at the other end of the island from the airport just below the main town of The Bottom (location on google.com/maps).
