For all aviation enthusiasts, the iconic Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport can be found on the small Caribbean island of Saba, belonging to the Netherlands.
The airport is served by the world's shortest regular runway , which is just 400 metres long and ends on both sides with a steep drop into the sea. Only small propeller-driven aircraft up to 19 seats can fly here.

All scheduled flights are operated by Winair and lead to SXM airport, where they land after a 12-minute flight.
The airport terminal is more like a family house. Inside there is one check-in counter and passport control, which is always passed through, even on the way to St Martin, which also belongs to the Netherlands.
There is no security check before departure.
The only departure gate is located on an outdoor terrace overlooking the runway.
Departure tax
When departing from Saba Airport, a departure tax must be paid at the check-in counter. The departure tax is never included in the price of any airline ticket.
The tax is 10 usd.
Payment can be made in cash (US dollars) or by card.
