Shrine of Remembrance

The huge "Shrine of Remembrance", with its museum and observation deck, is one of the most important monuments in Australia.
It is a war memorial built in 1918 to honour the men and women of Victoria who served in the First World War. Over time, the memorial has expanded to include other wars involving the citizens of Victoria.
