What will you see at the museum?
Melbourne Old Gaol has been preserved to its original form inside and is surprisingly large.
It will take you at least 40 minutes to visit.
During your visit, you will have the opportunity to visit most of the cells, the execution chamber and the warder's quarters. There is an audio guide during the visit included in the ticket price.
Entrance fees and opening hours
The Old Prison is open every day from 10:00-17:00.
Entrance is from Russell Street (see map).
Adults pay for admission 38 aud. You can book online, but the price on site is the same and queues don't usually form.
