Due to the very small number of inhabitants and villages, there are relatively few accommodation facilities on the island.

Hotels and private apartments are scattered all over the island, but that's okay because you usually have to rent a car anyway.

The best accommodation on King Island

We'd recommend staying in one of these apartments or hotels:

• Island Breeze Motel *** - The largest hotel with the best accessibility is located in the north of Currie with convenient free parking.
• Turnstone Beach House - in our opinion, the best accommodation on the island in a private, modern apartment right on the beach in the middle of the grasslands and away from all civilization
• King Island Accommodation Cottages *** - a well rated guesthouse in the small village of Naracoopa with sea views

Prices and when to book

As accommodation is quite limited, we recommend booking as far in advance of your trip as possible.

Most local accommodations offer a free cancellation option, which we always recommend. You can continue to keep an eye on prices and deals to see if a better or cheaper option becomes available.

The average price in high season for a hotel or good apartment is around 300 aud for a double room.
