Direct bus to Düsseldorf

The special "Airport Weeze Shuttle" runs between the airport and Düsseldorf Central Bus Station. The buses stop here at platform number 8.

The line only runs 1-4 times a day according to the current flight schedule.

A detailed timetable, including online ticket purchase, can be found at airportweezeshuttle.com.

  • Price - 24 eur
  • Travel time - 75 minutes

Bus + train

A cheaper option for getting to Düsseldorf, but also to other cities such as Krefeld or Neuss, is possible by combining bus lines to the nearby cities of Weeze or Kevelaer and the RE10 train further in the direction of Düsseldorf.

  • Line SW1 - goes to Weeze railway station
    • Frequency - 1x per hour
    • Last bus from the airport - 21:56
    • First bus from Weeze station - 6:50
  • Line 73 - goes to Kevelaer railway station
    • Frequency - 1x per hour
    • Last bus from the airport - 0:25
    • First bus from Kevelaer station - 4:35

From both stations - Weeze and Kevelaer - the same train line runs to Kempen, Krefeld, Neuss and Düsseldorf.

The train line runs 1-2 times per hour.

You can find connections via niag.de or bahn.de. Search for Weeze Airport under "Airport Terminal 1, Weeze".

If you are travelling from Düsseldorf towards the airport, trains are often delayed. If you are scheduled to change between train and bus in Kevelaer and the train is delayed beyond the transfer time to the bus, continue on to Weeze, where the SW1 bus leaves at a different time.

In this case, you will always be at the airport faster than if you were waiting for the next bus in Kevelaer.

Tickets

It is always a good idea to buy one NIAG integrated ticket, which is valid for the train and the SW1 and 73 bus lines.

You can't buy this ticket anywhere at the airport, but you can purchase it via the VRR mobile app.

  • Düsseldorf (including DUS) - 18,90 eur
  • Krefeld - 14,20 eur

On the way to the airport, you can also buy tickets from the ticket machines at the train stations.

You can only buy a ticket from the bus driver from the airport to the railway station (3,60 eur at Weeze station or 7,40 eur at Kevelaer station), from where you would have to buy a ticket at the above mentioned 18,90 eur.

Taxi / Uber

There are always taxis waiting outside the arrivals hall. You can pay with cash or card. Due to the distance of the airport, prices are high.

  • Düsseldorf - 120 eur
  • Krefeld - 90 eur

There is also the mobile app Uber, which can offer slightly lower prices.

Car rental

If you want to venture into the German countryside, rent a car directly at the airport from one of the many international car rental companies.

You can compare prices from all car rental companies in 1 click via booking.com.
