Germany's Weeze Airport is located 80 km north of Düsseldorf near the border with the Netherlands and serves mainly the low-cost carrier Ryanair.
The airport is named after the nearby town of Weeze, but the name "Niederrhein" is also often used to refer to the region in which it is located, or even "Düsseldorf" despite the long distance.
Only Ryanair operates regular flights, mainly to destinations in southern Europe and North Africa.
The main airport for the whole region is Düsseldorf DUS, which is much closer to the city.
