Transfer at Trondheim Airport

Trondheim

Trondheim Vaernes Airport has only one terminal common to all flights. The building is compact, modern and relatively small.

Orientation is easy. After checking in, there is a central security checkpoint that will lead you to the departure area to the Schengen area and around Norway. From here, a short corridor leads to another area after passport control, where the departure gates for flights outside the Schengen area are.

It takes about 5 minutes to walk through the entire airport.

Transfer between flights

Trondheim is a frequent transfer point from international and domestic flights to other domestic flights within Norway.

Norwegian regional airline Wideroe has one of its smaller hubs in Stavanger and serves a large number of smaller and larger Norwegian cities from here.

The connection is well signposted and as long as you have a boarding pass for the connecting flight and automatically checked baggage to your destination, you don't have to leave the transit area.

The minimum transfer time is 35 minutes, but in practice you can get from plane to plane in less than 20 minutes.

International -> Domestic

If you are transferring from any international destination (including arrivals from the Schengen area), you must collect your checked baggage, exit the transit area, re-check it in and go through security back to transit. You must also leave the transit area if you have arrived from a non-Schengen country, even if you are travelling with hand luggage only.

In total, this procedure takes approximately 35 minutes.

If you are travelling with hand luggage only and have arrived from a Schengen country, follow the "Connecting Flights" sign and you do not need to leave the transit area.

In this case, you can transfer in 10 minutes.

Domestic -> International / Domestic

If you are connecting from a destination in Norway to any international flight or another flight within Norway and you have a connecting flight on one ticket, you do not need to collect your baggage.

Just find your departure gate when you enter the hall. In the case of a flight to Norway or Schengen, the transfer will take about 10 minutes and if you are departing to a non-Schengen country, add another 5 minutes to go through passport control.
