The very small regional airport on Tioman can be found in the middle of the island on the west side in the village of Teluk Kekek.
It is a STOL - Short Take Off and Landing airport. As the name suggests, the local runway is not long enough to service standard Boeing 737 or ATR aircraft, so specific small aircraft have to fly here.
The airport can be used for private flights.
The last commercial services operated before 2021 from Singapore with Berjaya Air and then until the end of 2023 from Subang SZB in Kuala Lumpur with SKS Airways, which has ceased operations.
The airport concourse is comparable in size to a small family home. The baggage carousel is located in front of one check-in counter immediately adjacent to the departure gate, where you'll find about 30 seats on benches with great views of the runway and surrounding hills.
