SEPTA provides the cheapest and fastest rush-hour transportation from the airport to downtown Philadelphia.
SEPTA train
Train Airport Line stops in front of all terminals and stops in downtown at the following stations:
- Penn Medicine Station - 20 minutes
- Gray 30th Street - 23 minutes
- Suburban Station - 28 minutes
- Jefferson Station - 33 minutes
SEPTA trains run at 30-minute intervals on weekdays and 60-minute intervals on weekends and national holidays.

The SEPTA card can be purchased from a vending machine at the station, where you can pay with cash and card. If you pay with your own contactless card, you must present it to the reader when boarding and alighting.

Buses
Alternatively, you can take a trio of bus routes to the outskirts of Philadelphia, paying 2,50 usd exact value at the driver, or 2 usd when paying with a SEPTA card, which you must purchase at the train station for 4,95 usd.
- 37 - The line runs to the South Philadelphia area to the "Snyder" Metro station and to the city of Chester west of the airport. The bus has intervals of 20 minutes and runs 24 hours a day.
- 108 - The bus runs to the western suburbs of Darby, Yeadon and Landsdowne.
- 115 - the service only goes to the neighbourhoods around the airport, it may be useful for those staying at a nearby hotel near the airport for example, but most hotels offer a free transfer

Car rental
Travelling around the US is most comfortable by car, especially if you're going to be out of town.
There are many airport car rental companies, and typical weekly rental rates are around 310 usd.
Rental car counters are located in the parking lots around the terminals, and all rental car companies provide free transfers from all terminals. Car rental vans always stop in Zone 2 in front of each terminal.

Ride sharing app
Ride-sharing apps Uber and Lyft can provide rides to Philadelphia Airport. The car ride to downtown takes about 25 minutes in ideal conditions and up to 60 minutes during rush hour.
The station is always in Zone 7.
The prices of these mobile apps are usually slightly lower than regular taxis and are around 28 usd for a ride to Downtown.
Taxi
Regular taxis are available in large numbers at all hours of the day and night. Taxis always stop outside each terminal in Zone 5.
