Taxi

For foreign tourists, taxis are the most convenient transport option, waiting outside the terminal at all hours.

No mobile apps work on Penghu Island, but there are always plenty of official yellow taxis everywhere. You can only pay in cash.

The price is always calculated according to the taxi meter and is 250 TWD to 300 TWD to Magong city centre.

Expect that many taxi drivers don't speak English at all, so it's a good idea to have a piece of paper ready with the Chinese writing of the location you're heading to. For example, a map of the hotel's location on Booking.com will also suffice.

Buses

After exiting the arrivals hall, there is a public bus stop about 15 metres to the right.

Official information and a detailed timetable can be found on the website: phpto.gov.tw (currently only in Chinese).

All buses run from the airport to Magong city centre, journey time is approximately 20-30 minutes depending on the particular route the bus is taking.

On average, a bus runs between the airport and Magong City every 10 to 30 minutes.

The first bus from Magong to the airport leaves at 6:35am, and the last bus from the airport to Magong leaves at 9:27pm.

Tickets cost 23 twd when travelling on lines 11, 32 and 35, or 51 twd when travelling on line 31. They are payable in exact cash at the driver's desk or via EasyCard, which is attached to the reader when boarding and alighting.

If you have not already purchased an EasyCard from Taipei, Kaohsiung or other cities, you can buy one at the 7-Eleven store in the arrivals hall.
