You have a wide range of options to get to the centre of Paris and the surrounding area, especially by train or tram.

Orly Airport is in fare zone 5, so it's not worth buying more expensive day tickets to get from the airport if you're not going to travel further out of the centre that day.

Metro 14

From June 2024, the new purple metro line 14 will run to the airport.

Metro line 14 is the fastest way to get from Orly to central Paris.

It takes you directly to Chatelet central station, Pyramides (Louvre, Palais Royal), Madeleine, Saint-Denis, as well as Saint-Lazare, Lyon and Bercy train stations without changing trains.

The airport metro station is located between terminals 3 and 4.

  • Fares - 10,30 eur (single ticket - Navigo Easy*) or 29,25 eur for 24 hours (you need a ticket for zones 1-5 as Orly is in zone 4)
  • Frequency - 4 to 7 minutes
  • Journey time - 25 minutes (at Chatelet station)
  • First connection from Chatelet - 5:30
  • Last connection from the airport - 0:34

The station at Orly airport is the only one of all metro stations exempted from the cheap "ticket t+" fare of €2.15.

For the metro, you have to buy a special single ticket for €10.30, which you can use to travel to any station on the metro network or RER trains (for trains in zones 1-3 only). This ticket can only be used to change from metro to metro or RER train and not to tram or bus.

*You must also include the Navigo Easy Pass for 2 eur in the price of the ticket, but you can also load as many tickets as you like at the ticket machines.

You can avoid the Navigo Easy card fee if you buy your tickets via the Île-de-France Mobilités mobile app (Google Play / App Store).

RER + Orly Val train to the centre

The RER blue line B urban rail train is the fastest way to get to the Latin Quarter (Luxembourg) area, Nord train station or CDG airport.

The nearest RER B train station "Antony" is reached by the automatic train "Orly Val". Detailed information can be found on the website: orlyval.com.

  • First connection from Chatelet-Les Halles - 5:24

Top 10 hotels in Paris

Tickets can be purchased at the Orly Val automatic train station from a machine where you can also pay with a credit card. You will go through the turnstile at Antony station.

You can use 14,50 eur to get to any station within zones 1-3 (all of Paris), but it will be more cost-effective to use metro line 14, which 2,15 eur will take you virtually all over Paris in one transfer.

Tram T7

Tram line 7 is the cheapest but longest way to get to the city centre.

The tram terminates at the southern edge of central Paris at the "Villejuif-Louis Aragon" station, where you can conveniently transfer to the metro line 7 towards the centre.

A single "Ticket t+" ticket is all you need for the metro-metro transfer, whereas you need two tickets for the metro-tram transfer.

  • Fares - 2,15 eur (Ticket t+) or 29,25 eur for 24 hours (you need a ticket for zones 1-5 as Orly is in zone 4)
  • Travel time - 36 minutes to Villejuif-Aragon
  • Frequency - 9-15 minutes
  • First connection from Villejuif-Aragon - 5:30
  • Last connection from the airport - 23:35 with a connection to the last metro to the centre at 0:28. The tram at 0:32 no longer connects to the metro at Villejuif-Aragon.

If you continue to the centre by metro, buy two tickets, one to be marked when you enter the tram and the other when you enter the metro.

You will find the tram stop in the underground of Terminal 4. If you arrive at Terminal 1, use the OrlyVal automatic train, which is free between terminals, to get to the South Terminal. From Terminals 2 and 3 it is a quicker walk (about 10-15 minutes).

OrlyBus to the centre

Numerous bus connections to the surrounding neighbourhoods and villages offer further options. A convenient option may be the OrlyBus bus line, which runs non-stop to Denfert-Rochereau metro station in the south of the centre, where you can transfer to metro lines 4 and 6.

  • Fares - 11,20 eur (+ 2,10 eur for the metro)
  • Travel time - 22 minutes to Denfert-Rochereau
  • Frequency - 8-15 minutes
  • First connection from Denfer-Rochereau - 4:58
  • Last connection from the airport - 23:41 with connection to the metro

You can buy your ticket preferably from the ticket machine in the arrivals hall of terminals 1 and 4, where you can also pay by card.

Local buses

There are also other local buses that stop at Orly Airport to serve the surrounding neighbourhoods.

  • Bus 183 - goes to the station of the RER yellow line "C" train Pont de Rungis and continues on to the suburb of Choisy-de-Roi
    • Price - 2,15 eur for a "Ticket t+", can only be bought from a machine at the tram or metro stop, or 2,50 eur from the driver, also valid here is a day ticket for zones 1-5

  • Bus 91-10 - goes to the Massy Palaiseau train station and on to Saint-Auban, Villiers, Voisins and Saint-Quentin
  • Bus 191-100 - goes to Juvisy, Yerres or Pont de Rungis
  • Bus 480 - goes to Athis-Mons, Ablon-sur-Seine and Villeneuve

Taxi

Daily public transport to the airport ends before 23:00 and after that time, a taxi is practically the only way to get there. You'll find the official stops clearly marked outside each terminal.

  • City centre on the right bank of the Seine - 44 eur
  • City centre on the left bank of the Seine - 36 eur

Uber/Bolt

The taxi apps Uber and Bolt also operate in Paris. Especially with the Bolt mobile app, the price can be lower than taxis by about 5 eur per ride.

The taxi stand via the mobile app is at terminal 4 near the official taxi stands, but for terminals 1, 2 and 3 the Uber/Bolt stand is located in the P3 car park about 3 minutes walk from the terminals.

To Charles de Gaulle Airport CDG

The Le Direct Bus service between the two airports has been cancelled, so the only option is to take the train with a change in Paris.

RER train + OrlyVal

It is better to allow extra time due to the frequent heavy traffic. A minimum of 4 hours is generally recommended to change trains between CDG and Orly, but this is the minimum. A safe transfer is from 6 hours upwards.

The automatic OrlyVal train will take you from Orly airport to Antony station, where you change to the direct RER B train to Paris-CDG airport.

In total, you will pay for your ticket 25,30 eur.

Metro + bus

If you have more time and want to save some money, take the following route.

  1. Metro line 14 to Gare de Lyon
  2. Metro line 1 to Nation station10,30 eur both metro rides together
  3. Bus line 351 to CDG airport2,15 eur

All in all, the cheapest way to get there only costs 12,45 eur and takes about 2 hours.

Tram + metro + bus

And if you really have a lot of time, you can get between the airports for 6,45 eur, i.e. 3 tickets ticket t+.

Use the first one on the T7 tram line, which will take you to the final stop Villejuif-Louis Aragon.

Here you will change to metro 7, which will take you to Place d'Italie station, where you will change to metro 6, which will take you to Nation station. You only need one ticket t+ for this connection.

From Nation station, take the 351 bus to CDG airport for an additional €2.15.

Taxi

Taxi fares to CDG Airport are calculated by the meter and depending on traffic you will pay between 75 eur and 85 eur.

Bus to Disneyland

There is also a direct bus service from the airport „Magical Shuttle“ to Disneyland Paris.

The journey takes approximately 90 minutes and buses run 11 times a day and the ticket price is 24 eur.

Night transport

At night, between 0:00 and 5:00, there are several Noctilien bus routes to the centre.

  • N22 - once every 20 minutes towards Place d'Italie and Chatelet
  • N31 - once every 30 minutes towards Place d'Italie and Gare de Lyon
  • N131 - once every 60 minutes towards Gare d'Austerlitz and Gare de Lyon
  • N144 - once every 60 minutes towards Place d'Italie and Gare de Lyon

To get to the city centre, you need three tickets ticket t+ po 2,15 eur, so you will pay a total of 6,45 eur. You can buy tickets from the machine at the tram stop near terminal 4 or at the metro station between terminals 3 and 4.
