La Guardia Airport is the third largest in the New York City area. Located on the edge of the densely populated Queens area, its proximity to central Manhattan (18 km) makes it particularly popular with business travelers.
Due to its location close to residential areas and very limited development opportunities, the airport has a ban on flights to destinations further than 2 400 km away, so it serves only flights within the USA and to Canada.
However, passengers travelling to/from Europe may also encounter La Guardia. Air Canada in particular often offers convenient flights with a connection in Toronto.
