Mexico City Felipe Ángeles International Airport in a nutshell

Mexico City

The new Felipe Ángeles International Airport has been serving the public since 2022, when it opened after the redevelopment of the former Santa Lucia military base.

The gradual construction of a large terminal is creating Mexico's largest airport, which is set to replace the outdated Benito Juárez MEX Airport, located in a densely built-up area close to the centre of Mexico City, by 2030.

Currently, Felipe Ángeles is mainly served by Mexican airlines AeroMexico, Interjet, VivaAerobus and Volaris to domestic and international destinations.

The terminal is located 40 km north of the Mexican capital. In Spanish, the abbreviation "AIFA" is widely used for the airport.
