Lomé Airport uses one modern but relatively small terminal. Especially in the period from about 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, the terminal is often very congested with a shortage of seats.
However, the terminal is very clear and you can walk through the entire terminal in 5 minutes.
Immigration and security checks
Of the major West African airports, immigration control in Lomé is one of the most well organised.
Queues form at about 45-60 minutes after the arrival of a large plane from Paris or Brussels and within 30 minutes from other destinations.
Security checks before departure are usually thorough and you can spend up to 30 minutes in line.
Transfer between flights
Lomé is an important transfer point, especially between Asky and Ethiopian Airlines flights.
Due to the small size of the terminal, the transfer is relatively quick and the official minimum transfer time is 35 minutes.
Once you exit the aircraft, follow the "Transfer" signs which will lead you to the ground floor for transfer security (there may be a queue for up to 20 minutes). There is no immigration check on transfer.
If you are getting off the plane on the tarmac without a boarding bridge, passengers are already divided right on the tarmac into buses that take them directly to immigration control for entry into Togo and passengers who are just transferring in Lomé.
If you have a short transfer time, airport or Asky airline staff will be waiting at the gate with your name and you will be taken through security as a priority.

Overnight in the terminal - opening hours
The airport is formally open 24/7, however, if no aircraft arrives or departs at night for more than 8 hours, the terminal will close and passengers will not be allowed to stay overnight.
Even when the terminal is open, there are virtually no suitable places to spend the night in the public area.
