The terminal is connected to Iwakuni city centre and the railway station by a special airport bus service, which costs 200 yen.
Taxis and car rental services are also available.
Bus
A special bus line connects the airport with Iwakuni Railway Station, where you can transfer to JR WEST trains bound for Hiroshima or Miyajimaguchi.
The bus always departs 10-15 after the flight arrives and in case of flight delays, the bus will wait.
In the direction of the airport, the bus runs to be at the airport 40 minutes before departure, i.e. according to the exact schedule. This can be viewed on the official website: iwakunibus.notion.site (only available in Japanese).
In practice, this means that the bus departs from the train station about 50 minutes before the flight departs.
The journey from the station to the airport takes 7-10 minutes.
Fares
The ticket costs 200 jpy.
You pay when you get off at the driver. You can either pay with exact cash or one of 10 Japanese transport cards (Icoca, Paspy, Suica and others).
Taxi
Official taxis are waiting outside the terminal when each plane arrives.
They are always metered and the ride to the train station will cost about 1 500 jpy. You will pay about 2 500 jpy for the ride to the historic Kinaikyo Bridge.
Car rental
Although the airport is very small, several car rental companies have their counters here, including the well-known multinational Europcar.
You can compare the prices of all rental companies in 1 click.
