Transfer at Havana Airport

Havana

The airport uses three terminals. Each of the buildings is located on a different side of the airport and are not connected by any airport bus.

The distance between the terminals is approximately 3 km and there is no pavement along the road. You can only get between the terminals by taxi. You can usually negotiate a price at 10 cuc.

Security and passport control

When you arrive in Havana, expect longer waiting times at immigration counters (approximately 60-90 minutes).

Pre-departure security checks are standard and queues last up to 20 minutes.

Longer queues may be at check-in, as most airlines do not allow online check-in on departure from Havana.

Transfer between flights

Terminal 3 is equipped with the ability to transfer without leaving the transit area.

However, this is only possible if you already have a boarding pass for a connecting flight and your baggage is checked through to your final destination.

You will be subject to security check on transfer, but not passport control. Terminal 3 is small and therefore transfers in Havana are very straightforward and quick (usually within 30 minutes).

Otherwise, you must go through immigration control, including purchasing a tourist card and checking in again.
