Turkish Airlines offers two carry-on bags per ticket. One standard size 55 x 40 x 23 cm and one small one that fits under the seat in front of you and is 40 x 30 x 15 cm.

Depending on the type of route and checked baggage, which may be limited in number of pieces or total weight.

Hand luggage

Passengers travelling with Turkish Airlines can take on board 2 pieces of hand luggage of the following sizes free of charge, regardless of the fare:

• 55 x 40 x 23 cm and 8 kg.
• 40 x 30 x 15 cm and 4 kg

If you are flying in business class, you are also entitled to one additional larger hand luggage free of charge.

Checked baggage

Checked baggage allowance is based on the fare. Not all fares include checked baggage and the cheapest fare often does not include checked baggage.

For example, for flights within Europe, there are three economy class fares to choose from, namely:

• EcoFly - 0 kg
• ExtraFly - 23 kg
• PrimeFly - 30 kg

Weight concept

Most flights within Europe fall under the weight concept, where each passenger can carry any number of bags up to a maximum aggregate weight.

For example, you have tickets containing luggage up to 20 kg. Either you check in one bag weighing 20 kg, or you check in 2 bags, one weighing 15 kg and the other 5 kg.

Piece concept

On the other hand, when flying to the Americas or Africa, the piece concept tends to apply. Thus, on flights to the USA, you will usually get 2 pieces of luggage, each up to 23 kg. You cannot check in more than one piece for free.

In any case, you will see the specific baggage limits when you buy your ticket, either on the airline's website or on another flight search engine.

Extra baggage

Additional checked baggage is calculated by weight. If you want to add baggage, you will pay for every 3 kg 9 eur. So, for example, adding one 21 kg bag will cost you €63.

Strollers and luggage for children

When travelling with small children under 2 years of age, you are entitled to free carry-on and checked-in luggage and a folding pushchair.

Luggage limits for children under 2 years old are as follows:

Domestic flights	10 kg	1 piece / 8 kg
International flights	10 kg + stroller	1 piece / 8 kg
Flights to the USA	23 kg + pushchair	1 piece / 8 kg

Baggage allowances apply to children over 2 years of age in the same way as for adults.
