Checked baggage

The number and weight of free checked baggage depends on the fare class purchased and the specific route.

With IndiGo, the so-called weight concept applies, i.e. you can have any number of bags. However, the sum of their weights must not exceed the limits set out below:

  • Domestic flights within India - up to 15 kg
  • Bali, Maldives, Mauritius, Nepal, Thailand - up to 20 kg
  • Nairobi - up to 25 kg
  • Other international destinations - up to 30 kg

If your ticket combines two flights, the higher limit always applies (for example, if you fly Istanbul - Delhi - Kolkata, you can carry up to 30 kg of luggage on the entire route).

Overweight charges

If you arrive at the airport with luggage that exceeds the specified limits compared to the ticket you purchased, you will never avoid the excess baggage fee.

Every extra kilogram is charged 600 inr.

For a detailed breakdown of the fees by destination, please visit goindigo.in/excess-baggage.

Baggage for children

Infants up to 2 years of age are allowed 1 piece of hand luggage up to 7 kg and with a total dimension up to 115 cm on IndiGo.

In addition, a stroller is carried free of charge.
