When buying tickets from flydubai, it is advisable to pay attention to the fare package you are buying.
In the basic LITE fare, the airline usually only offers hand luggage, but for a very small extra fee you can get a VALUE fare with checked baggage, refreshments and the option to change your ticket. The price difference is usually around 15 usd in one direction.
Hand luggage
Carry-on / cabin baggage is always free on flydubai. Economy class passengers have 1 piece, business class passengers have 2 pieces of large hand luggage. In addition, a smaller personal bag can be taken with you. Dimensions and weights are as follows:
- Hand luggage - 55 x 38 x 20 cm and 7 kg
- Personal item - 33 x 25 x 20 cm
Both of these bags are free of charge with each ticket. For more information, please visit flydubai.com/hand-baggage.
Checked baggage
Checked baggage can be purchased with each ticket, but it is advisable to select the VALUE fare that includes checked baggage when purchasing your ticket.
The maximum weight of your baggage depends on the route you are flying.
For example, from Prague to Dubai the standard weight is 20 kg, for flights from Dubai to Sri Lanka it is even 30 kg on the LITE fare and 40 kg on the VALUE fare for economy class passengers.
The maximum size of checked baggage is 75x55x35 cm.
In the event of a transfer, your baggage is automatically transferred and collected at your final destination.
Strollers
Strollers are always carried free of charge when travelling with small children.
You can have your stroller tagged at the check-in counter and either hand it in directly or keep it until boarding, where you can leave it outside the aircraft. You will then pick up the stroller at the designated baggage claim area - oversized baggage claim.
For children up to 2 years of age, you can check in luggage up to 10 kg if your tickets also include free checked baggage (VALUE fare and above).
Hey! Hey!
I am going to buy through your portal tickets to Colombo with Fly Dubai, Value fare. However, I don't understand the checked baggage policy for this fare. It offers me 3 pieces of luggage weighing up to 6 kg ( maybe included?). Does this mean I can have 1 baggage weighing up to 18 kg in total? Thanks for the reply.
Andrew
There is some mistake, Sri Lanka has a 20 kg weight limit regardless of the number of pieces. So 1 18 kg bag is OK.
