Baggage allowances on easyJet airlines are based on the additional services purchased for the ticket itself. Each passenger is entitled to a small hand luggage allowance in the basic fare.
Hand baggage allowance
Passengers are entitled to 1 piece of hand luggage of the following dimensions free of charge for each ticket:
- 45 x 36 x 20 cm
The weight limit for this baggage is a generous 15 kg. However, you will not encounter much weight control at airports. On the contrary, it is very common to have the size measured using baggage cages at the departure gates.

Larger hand luggage
Passengers on the FLEXI fare or those who have purchased the Large Cabin Bag service can have a larger carry-on bag in addition to their small carry-on. In this case you are entitled to 2 pieces of luggage of the following limits:
- 45 x 36 x 20 cm
- 56 x 45 x 25 cm
Travellers with a paid easyJet PLUS membership are also entitled to a second larger bag.
Checked baggage
Checked baggage can be purchased from easyJet during the booking process or in Manage My Booking before check-in.
There are weight limits of 15kg, 23kg, 26kg, 29kg and 32kg.
The price of the baggage is based on the distance of the flight and the weight. Usually expect to pay 40 eur per flight for a 23kg bag.
You can check in your baggage at the airport up to 40 minutes before departure. However, on selected flights, check-in desks close as early as 60 minutes before departure, e.g. at London Gatwick or Paris CDG.
Our tip: if you will be purchasing a selection of seats in addition to your checked baggage up to 23kg, it's worth buying the Essentials fare.
Strollers for children
EasyJet allows free carriage of not only the pushchair itself, but a total of 2 items in the hold. If you are travelling with young children, you are entitled to carry 2 items from this list:
- Stroller (foldable or non-foldable)
- travel cots
- car seat
- booster seat
- a back carrier
These items can be checked in free of charge at the check-in counter at the airport.
Animals on board
EasyJet does not allow pets on board or in the hold (dogs, cats, parrots, etc.). The only exception is for assistance seeing eye dogs.
Hi, I would like to ask about checked baggage. I know that lowcost normally charges a checked-in fee for each segment because they just sell the flights separately. But I managed to find (through skyscanner it moved me to easyjet) a ticket Akureyri - Prague with a change in Manchester, when I add checked baggage, it seems that I pay only once, even though I have to check the baggage again in Manchester... do you have any experience with this?
I tried this procedure now for this connection and would have to pay checked baggage for each segment.
and where does one find out? When I book it directly through easyjet I have to buy 2 flights separately, but when I find it through skyscanner and then I click from it directly to EJ so it looks like one ticket where I have my luggage in the final price for both flights, but I'm not sure...
From skyscanner it will click to https://worldwide.easyjet.com/ see for example here: https://zdopravy.cz/easyjet-zacn...avci-1682/
When I entered it, the price for checked baggage was increased by about 60 EUR, which was less than 30 EUR for segment 1 and over 30 EUR for segment 2. How much did it increase for you?
Hi, when I added the luggage it says +107 EUR so it's strange that it doesn't add together the 60 EUR for 2 segments like you..
EDIT: and if I look directly on the EJ website for each flight separately, it will cost me 7140 CZK (for 2), if I take it through worldwide EJ so 9570 CZK for 2 people..so a solid difference..with a more expensive ticket probably the advantage is that I have a guaranteed transfer, I guess?
I guess so, but I don't know how the guarantee works. It's certainly not cheaper than it looked from the original question.
